Community Outreach
(Knox Area Ministries, Water Angels Ministry, Under the Bridge Ministry, Christian Heights and Montgomery Village)
New Covenant actively supports this Christian outreach ministry to the homeless and at-risk population in Knoxville. We regularly lead their Sunday worship services, preaching the word of God, leading lost souls to Christ and praying for their deliverance and for other specific needs. We also provide food for many of their Sunday services.
Nursing Home Ministries
New Covenant visits area nursing homes and conducts worship services. This ministry provided an avenue to share and fellowship with those who cannot attend a worship service at a church.
Prison Ministry
New Covenant provides Bible Study to groups of women at the Knox County (Tennessee) Detention Facility. Our outreach ministry team members are trained by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, Corrections Training Division and Program Department.
Community Initiatives
(Shoes for School; Project Grad)
New Covenant reaches out to the community to address various needs, often in partnership with other organizations. These activities very often include evangelistic rallies, food drives, coat drives and providing back-to-school supplies for needy children.
Jamaica Mission Initiative
New Covenant is actively involved in mission activities with youth, women and men in the St. Catherine Parish of Linstead, Jamaica. This initiative is carried out in partnership with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. We annually travel to Jamaica to minister to various groups and teach Kingdom building.
City Reach
New Covenant is actively involved in mission activities with youth, women and men carrying out the Great Commission in Cincinnati, Ohio, Knoxville and Memphis, Tennessee. This initiative is carried out in partnership with the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board. We bi-annually travel to different cities to minister to various groups; and teach Kingdom building.
Watoto Children’s Choir
Since 1994, Watoto Children’s Choirs have traveled all over the world sharing the plight of Africa’s orphaned and vulnerable youth, making an appeal to help these children so that they can rebuild their nation. Each of the children in the choir has suffered the loss of one or both their parents and now live in a Watoto Village in Africa. The choir performs at New Covenant and our families host the choir members and their chaperones in their home overnight, providing a meaningful opportunity for dialogue and fellowship.
